Drake would love to be in meeks position. he's said so himself on multiple occasions. Drake has opened for niki before, and hes arguably not as big as her. All the dises he aimed at meek could be aimed at himself.
I doubt many would argue that drake hasn't been running rap for a minute even if people don't like him, even outliers like kendrick and cole don't have that much visibility. The fact drake is not in a relationship with nicki and being perceived as the smaller part in said relationship nullifies that all disses aimed at meek could be aimed at him. hell, even jay-z gets the same treatment here on the coli with posters often going in on how he is a tag along on some "beyonce +1" shyt.
The beta angle is purely made up by someone outside the relationship. Drake or us don't know anything about their relationship. I could see if we had meek on tape sucking toes and being smacked around or something. Any person siting outside a relationship throwing shade is simply hating. that's some ole teenage gossip shyt.
To me talking shyt about a mans relationship is sucka behavior regardless of the situation. Its exactly what he said he'd do in marvins room "ill start hating only if you make me" straight sucka shyt
yes, but that is how meek is being perceived, drake wasn't even the first, budden threw them type rocks at meek first, and even if only anecdotal evidence, plenty of people here on the coli said meek is indeed acting like a groupie. as silly as it is, let's not act like rappers, especially of the "street" mould like meek, don't carry certain behavioral expectations, nikkas been made fun of for being "suckas for love" since the beginning of time, its part of the culture.
and similarly, we don't run in the same circles as him and drake, inside jokes and allegations can be exaggerated to make it seem something they are not. the validity of them are not easily verifiable neither. "unless we have a tape of such and such" argumentation could be added here too.
and IDGAF about what the general public says. The general public doesn't care that he's a Canadian jew that calls himself a "real nikka" using a southern accent he acquired from reference tracks. Nothing meek said could be the right angle for them
unfortunately for meek you don't win beefs based on singular enthusiast hip-hop forums' opinions. the general public perception does have a say on how the narrative goes. I always preferred takeover over ether and i found quite a few people on the internet that think the same however, the general public rocks with ether which i fully understand and don't really get aggy or care when they say ether > takeover. its how the game goes.
meek fumbled, in my opinion flex dropping the reference tracks was a more potent diss than what meek provided.
