I started a train of thought but didn't finish the post (flicked to twitter or something), I came back and quoted someone else and the post still had that "track is impressive but kinda weak ....." the rest of the thought was "...considering it seems he's heard the track"....as in I would expect better considering he had that upper hand. Yeah, the narrative has already been set and public opinion has already been formed.
I don't think Meek's career is going to end but I don't see it growing either at this point. A lot of people who might have been open to his music might no longer give him a chance since he's being clowned by all sides.
Meek should have released this back in July...but then, I guess he couldn't have since the song takes its cues from Drake's.
I'd equate his current situation to retaking a test that you already failed. It's great that you know all the right answers now but you still failed. The original grade still counts.
