( it was an Obama African chain made with beads & pictures with dogtag pic of the future president on it.)
I wore it maybe two three times before giving it to my niece. it was too big for my neck plus I felt like I was being hung with it.

Agreed. All forms of jewelry are wack to me (outside of watches....not the gaudy ones, tho).

I just don't get the point of wearing jewelry to show off when you're rich. When I was a poor youngin and into jewelry, I used to say I'd buy some real 2 or 3 carat diamond studs when I got on...now that I can afford them, I'm like why should I waste racks on that?

The worst thing about jewelry is that I know we could manufacture fake jewels for 1% of the costs of the real shyt that would shine brighter...but there's no market for that, cuz people have been brainwashed into coveting the "precious" stones.

I tell people my earrings are blood diamonds all the time, they sure as hell felt like it the day I bought them. I'm not as blingy as I was when I was young tho, silver bracelet is replaced with a leather one, diamond earrings sometimes I replace them with these stainless steel plates, and my hairbone chain is now a black buddhist prayer necklace.
