What type of hair? Y'all doing ounces or bundles? Online business or a shop?

we're not doing a shop, at least not yet. we're selling to local beauticians on consignment and then selling to customers off word of mouth. one of the guys i went to school with sells off his website/word of mouth and he's cleaning up.....it's a 9 billion dollar industry.

im gonna treat this like the dope game and have some kids terrorizing these stores in the neighborhoods that sell weave. this is our block :camby:

start with cheap bundle deals :ehh:

I know a bunch of affordable quality hair vendors via aliexpress :ld:

link?

If it is very good quality it will. You would probably have to do it online though.
Is there a demand for "afro textured" hair? Doubtful. Might as well go to India and snatch the hair ourselves. Probably wouldn't be as expensive as you think. I know people that have gone to China and now import goods.

My thinking is that one should start with what people want and then worry about social issues. I don't know about creating a demand for "afro textured" hair, but it might be worth it to mention something about black people's hair or product on the packaging. Stir demand by appealing to people's better halves.

OP, if you're serious, I'll find a business outline in my PM box by this time tomorrow. I have some ideas of my own. The weave business has potential. Might be worth it to keep a woman like @SouthernBelle for consultation.

Wrong. All the way wrong and that it why I said it is better to do it online. This is GREAT quality hair:

It cost a few hundred dollars and sells like hot cakes online. There are 9 google search pages of threads from ONE (1) black hair message board about this hair alone. This is some of the most expensive kinky curly hair. This does not even include the (still quality) but cheapie kinds of kinky curly hair. If you advertise good quality kinky curly hair online, it's going to sell out...to the point that it's on back order and women are waiting (I've seen it happen too many times over the past 7 years).

There are literally 10s of thousands of kinky curly weave reviews on youtube. Black women are always looking for good kinky curly hair.

I can already see that this business would fail because yall think yall know everything.

Thanks for the detailed write-up. I actually learned a little bit just from those scant paragraphs. But let's not reveal every little detail on this public forum. You have a point about people living in a bubble and thinking they know it all. That's a real problem many businesspeople face. You don't know what you don't know. If this thing ever gets off the ground, I'll (we'll) need advise and partners like you.
