I'm amazed at the amount of people in here asking why security is in these spots. The answer is obvious

I'm from Newark and even the most hood McDonalds don't keep ARMED security.

The majority of McDonalds are franchises. It's up to the owner to hire the security

For all of the people asking why there was armed security, I'll feed you, baby birds.
McDonald's are popular hangouts, and some of them are open late, and sometimes people act up there.
So sometimes they hire security. And sometimes, the price difference between unarmed and armed is negligible, so they do armed instead. This isn't that strange
