i'm saying plenty of average jobs allow you to make 80-150k, those are the people who have access to saving for a franchise, as well as owners of other small businesses. you're acting like you have to be some tyc00n or billionaire heir to save up enough capital for a franchise, that's not the case. the franchise model is accessible to the middle class and those who pool their money (i.e. all these immigrants who own subways), no you're not opening one at 24 fresh out of school, but it's doable if that's your goal

"Paying a living wage" wont do much to help people at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder get out of poverty, if they still dont have access to affordable healthcare, affordable child care, or easy means to higher education or job/skills training.
