That whole album was banging. It was just in 94 literally everything else was banging harder, but I still go back to this joint every now and then

“Clap Yo Hands”
“Sleepin’ on a Masterplan”
“Don’t Stop”

Whole 9 laced Hammer with some serious production. If that had been some up and comer out of Oakland they’d be calling it a regional classic

The song was a great song and possibly could've been bigger hit, but the 1st video ruined it and we know why:dame:

I know that the 2nd video was him trying to save the song. Too bad the damage was done for that album and his career. And the album low-key was not bad. He may have tried to seem more edgy in his appearance but the album was not gangsta at all and that's not a bad thing.

He released this around the time where every hip artist in the 80's and very early 90's tried to go the West Coast or Knucklehead route.

The thing about this and that album is that Hammer made it work tho that wasn't his style.

Also you feel pretty bad for artists that came out in 88 to 91 because by 92 the sound in hip hop and R&B completely changed.

It’s amazing how fast sound used to change in previous music eras.
