There can be plenty of dispute about that. Mayweather (obviously) benefits from the time that he's in; there's so many more people with access to pay-per-view than ever before.

If we could magically transplant Mike Tyson's career and start it in 2000 or something, HE would be the undisputed all-time PPV King, and there's people that consider him that anyway.

Not to try to diss Mayweather though, I :salute: his success as well. I could never hate on somebody for making the most out of their opportunity/situation.

His career started in the 2000s and he had to fight vlad or vitali?

:ohhh: ... IF he got past them then who else woulda he make these big fights with.. I know he has big pay days with some bums but I don't know Breh

Casual fans are the ones who say that Mayweather is boring

Look breh, when I watch Mayweather fight I'm not screaming at the tv for him to mix it up or anything. I'm not mad that he doesn't try to put everyone on his ass. I don't feel like he is so good at nullifying his opponents at times that it' takes some of the enjoyment away. I know a lot of people probably like seeing someone with world class defense and everything, but it's not for me. Not anymore anyway

Bruh, people were paying huge money to see Tyson fight one round fights AFTER he got out of prison and had already lost.

Tyson was selling the fights himself, not unlike Floyd.

I'm more just talking about if Tyson the boxer/entertainer/performer had been born at a later age moreso than I'm trying to have an argument over who he would have beat, could have beat, etc.

I'm just trying to figure out how, logically speaking, anybody would think that if they were of the same time, Floyd would have been a bigger draw than Tyson?

:what:

I'd be surprised if it broke 1 Mill buys. Most sports bars around my way weren't showing it, the promotion wasn't even as big as the Cotto fight, no real press tours, etc.

It IS Mayweather and people will buy off GP, but 2.4 Mill buys :whoa:

They don't remember the era.. I remember everybody's parents used to have fight party's for tyson fights.. It was super mainstream. I agree thatif the ppv access was the same tyson woulda did more because he was even more controversial and he knocked nikkas the fukk out

He already is the best draw ever. There is no dispute

Mike Tyson and Oscar De la Hoya would like to have a word with you. Floyd wasn't even a staple on PPV till after he fought Gatti. Then the Oscar fight put him over the top as a draw.

If he did that much fighting that dude, he'll never fight Alvarez. It's to the point where Mayweather talks a good fight. He trash talks so well, that's basically the fight. Showtime should mic him during every round and just have no announcers next fight.

The thing is he didn't do much trash talking for this fight... and Guerrero isn't a big name so we'll see where his star power is really at

Everyone talked about the fight during the weekend though, I'm guessing around Ortiz numbers, 1.4million IIRC
