I don't even understand why this has been a top trending story in several news outlets. Floyd doesn't give a FUKK
They're just hating.
The cac media had so much invested in Pac beating him, they're still feeling that ether
I can't imagine how crazy they would've got if Floyd lost:wow:

I'm not familiar with boxing committees and sanctions. What happened?
I forget what the actual percentage is (saw an article on it the other day), basically each time you defend that belt the organization who created the belt takes a cut of your salary. Minimum was $1,000 and the max was $200k. Because Floyd makes so much every time he defends that belt he has to give the WBO $200k to keep it. If he doesnt the belt goes up for grabs.
Plus the organizations also jerk you around and have their own division rankings and order you to fight the top ranked fighter on their list (called mandatories). Basically forcing you to fight someone, without your input, to keep their belt. Sometimes the mandatories are good (Wilder's is Povetkin), but often times the mandatory is a C class fighter who didnt deserve the fight or isn't the most marketable - often influenced by promoter's.

Reality is Floyd doesnt need any of the belts. At this point everyone recognizes that 147 and the PFP #1 goes through him. A lot of fighter's covet belts because it makes them feel legit and gives them marketing opportunities. Floyd is one of the few fighters who is beyond that. He is the man with or without the belts.

anyways...all the main organizations..WBO, IBF, WBC, and WBA have sanctioning fees...you have to pay the fees for the belts...they are pretty much all the same..around 3-4%...floyd prolly paid between 400K-500K for the wbc and wba ones and didnt want to pay another 200K for the WBO one...now the other caveat is something with wbo exclusively i guess as he couldnt hold those wbc/wba light middleweight belts he has..only wbo, wbc, and wba welter belts....you dont pay and follow rules its their right to strip :manny:...he's not the first fighter and wont be the last...its a non story..but its a story because casuals and even some who are slightly in tune with boxing dont understand how belts work in professional boxing and think "money may" is being railroaded by "cacs" :bryan:

The WBO said it is against rules for boxers to hold world titles in multiple weight classes and that Mayweather had to indicate which weight division he he would retain.

They didn't say he would be stripped for not defending. They just said he'd be stripped because its against the rules to hold multiple belts. And I didn't know you could be fined $200k.

Lol, as long as you keep jumping up and down in weight classes to defend your belt, I just assumed you could hold mad belts.

nah its not a fine...that 200K is the sanctioning fee so it can be up for grabs in a fight..you gotta pay to be a champion in boxing lol..some organizations though have their own criteria regarding their belts and holding other organization belts.which is the issue with floyd and the wbo
