Your showing highlights of him fighting Gatti, N'dou, and old shot Shane Mosley.
Dont think he'll look that good against a prime Duran, Leonard, and Hagler. Matter of fact that bwoy wouldve demanded steroid tests for all three fighters and retire then un-retire like a bytch.
Duran is the only name on that list that I think would have beat him. He would have never went up to middleweight to fight Hagler. Man if you knew a fellow boxer was cheating, wouldn't you demand testing?
Floyd is an all time great and will go down as a legend when it's all said and done. But Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Tommy Hearns would have beat him. Hearns probably would have knocked Floyd out early in the fight too. That would have been a terrible matchup for Floyd. Aaron Pryor could beat him to if he was on his A game but i still give the edge to Floyd. And i think we all know Sugar Ray Robinson would have hurt him bad. That's not taking anything away from Floyd, but he's gotten people thinking he can never be beat and that's just a farce. But if he would have beat Pacquiao in 2009, the hyperbole about who he would have beat would have went through the roof.
I would never compare Floyd to Ray Robinson. I do agree that the Pacquiao fight was a legacy fight, but I think Floyd's resume is way more impressive than Pacquiaos. Pacquiao fought the majority of his big name opponents way after they were over the hill. Name Pacquiao's biggest win and I guarantee the opponent was over the hill.
FYI, Floyd's a coward.
Ducked
Pacquaio
Margarito
Prime-Cotto
Martinez
Now we talking about him fighting Alexander and Guerrero.... fukk outta here!
He tried to make the fight with Pacquiao. Also, it was not his fault Cotto got rocked by Margarito. Who knows why he never fought Margarito, but lets be honest, Floyd cleaned up the light weight division and there was really no competition for him at 140. His biggest fights at welterweight was Hatton, Mosley, and Marquez.
Sometimes great fighters never face each other. I would have loved to see him fight a prime Cotto; but how many of people would pick a prime Cotto over a prime Mayweather Jr
I still think the Martinez fight will happen. I was hoping it'd happen this fall, but it's doubtful. Floyd doesn't look great at 154 anyway.
man.. you think floyd is gonna hurt pryor at all... pryor aint fukking gatti...
he fought ppl with pop in their hands and ran right through em.. floyd woulndt be able to hold him off...
rjj had one of his best wins against an defensive shoulder roll wiz in james toney... thats how rjj v. may would go
like the prev poster posted ... yall musta forgot
Floyd had most of his punching power at 140. Not saying that he would have knocked out Pryor, but he would have boxed the fukk outta Pryor. Mayweather has 10 times the smarts a fighter like Pryor ever had. I just think that'd be a bad fight for pryor, but whatever.
Pretty much, he will be remember as a great talent that had zero courage. thats his legacy and he did it to him self.
Floyd knew that Pac fight was a legacy fight, and he chose money over it. Its not like dude was broke.
Floyd's resume: Hernandez, Castillo, Corrales, Judah, Mosley, Marquez, Hatton, De la hoya, Cotto. Floyd earned his first title in the 90s. Dude has been undefeated for 3 decades. fukk else you want?
