Mayweather Jr. could go toe to toe with any boxing legend.

nah he wanted to do it 14 days b4 the fight u know how much hgh he could use in 14 days

2nd negotiation was day of fight... the reason it was called off was the 50/50 split that manny wanted...

either way.. floyd could destroyed manny if he wouldve just manned up and fought him the first time who cares about the test

BUT FLOYD WAS SCARED FOR HIS LIFE AND STARTED crying about the roids...

he let and allowed manny to become some great boogyman cause of the implyed duck and made manny millions...

hell the big winner of that whole ordeal was prob manny cause manny went on to go unchecked for years and make millions

BUT THEN MANNY BIT OFF A LITTLE MORE THAN HE COULD CHEW AND JMM FLATLINED HIM...

couldve been floyds greatest win in 2009 ... but with floyd ITS A BUNCH OF COULDVE WOULDVE SHOULDVES ...LOL

he's more skilled than a lot of legends but that doesnt mean he'll beat them

mayweather is a better boxer than leonard.... technically, but leonard beats mayweather

:ehh:

Aaron Pryor would give him hell at 140.

Floyd would box the shyt out of Pryor are you kidding me? Floyd at 140 with that speed? :rudy:

Mayweather Jr was clearly the best of the 2000 era, and has been so far the best in the 2010 era, though he is only 3 fights in. But I think Mayweather Jr. is one of the best in any era. Id put him up against any 70s or 80s legend. Dude is remarkable.

He is one of the only boxing virtuosos I've ever seen. Dude has so many different styles he can beat his opponents with, and casual boxing fans don't recognize that.

As witnessed here:

Pure boxing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUhLnuhe7KA&feature=youtube_gdata_player<br />
(Lead right hands, left and right hand counters, left jabs, counter inside uppercuts)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHZMQjBQmNg&feature=youtube_gdata_player

(Lead left hooks, counter left jabs, counter left hooks, pull counters, lots of fainting)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ox9zW-EDJPo&feature=youtube_gdata_player
(Pull counters, in the pocket fighting, just utter annihilation)

Pure fighting or standing and trading:

Mayweather stans :blessed:

What say you? :obama:

Edit: Some of these aren't embedding right :beli:

Your showing highlights of him fighting Gatti, N'dou, and old shot Shane Mosley.

Dont think he'll look that good against a prime Duran, Leonard, and Hagler. Matter of fact that bwoy wouldve demanded steroid tests for all three fighters and retire then un-retire like a bytch. :pacspit:

Floyd is an all time great and will go down as a legend when it's all said and done. But Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Tommy Hearns would have beat him. Hearns probably would have knocked Floyd out early in the fight too. That would have been a terrible matchup for Floyd. Aaron Pryor could beat him to if he was on his A game but i still give the edge to Floyd. And i think we all know Sugar Ray Robinson would have hurt him bad. That's not taking anything away from Floyd, but he's gotten people thinking he can never be beat and that's just a farce. But if he would have beat Pacquiao in 2009, the hyperbole about who he would have beat would have went through the roof.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I think sugar ray Robinson was out of his weight class. But my god. I wouldn't put anybody above him and that was long before the documentary. That only raised his level

But let's not act like manny didn't go on a 24 espn spree. Hitting every show and radio show in a day. Constantly saying he'll take 48%. He'll do a test that same day and right after the fight. He said it in person, on international airways, to the world. Floyd has never once responded since that day. He has his "people" say 48% is still too much to give manny and he should be happy with 20 mil

It's always something. Floyd is like that kid in high school who knows he's getting fukked up after so he start making excuses. Oh my momma wants me home. Oh these my school clothes. Oh I just sprained my ankle. Oh somebody weaker and smaller wants to fight? Oh I'm fine now

You're a boxer. Another boxer is saying you scared of him and he'll beat you. You bringing up money and you running round with a mil in the suitcase. Like you gonna somehow lose out on 52% of the biggest fight ever in history

Pretty much, he will be remember as a great talent that had zero courage. thats his legacy and he did it to him self.

Floyd knew that Pac fight was a legacy fight, and he chose money over it. Its not like dude was broke.

Duran is the only name on that list that I think would have beat him. He would have never went up to middleweight to fight Hagler. Man if you knew a fellow boxer was cheating, wouldn't you demand testing?

I would never compare Floyd to Ray Robinson. I do agree that the Pacquiao fight was a legacy fight, but I think Floyd's resume is way more impressive than Pacquiaos. Pacquiao fought the majority of his big name opponents way after they were over the hill. Name Pacquiao's biggest win and I guarantee the opponent was over the hill.

FYI, Floyd's a coward.

He tried to make the fight with Pacquiao. Also, it was not his fault Cotto got rocked by Margarito. Who knows why he never fought Margarito, but lets be honest, Floyd cleaned up the light weight division and there was really no competition for him at 140. His biggest fights at welterweight was Hatton, Mosley, and Marquez.

Sometimes great fighters never face each other. I would have loved to see him fight a prime Cotto; but how many of people would pick a prime Cotto over a prime Mayweather Jr :comeon:

I still think the Martinez fight will happen. I was hoping it'd happen this fall, but it's doubtful. Floyd doesn't look great at 154 anyway.

Floyd had most of his punching power at 140. Not saying that he would have knocked out Pryor, but he would have boxed the fukk outta Pryor. Mayweather has 10 times the smarts a fighter like Pryor ever had. I just think that'd be a bad fight for pryor, but whatever.

Pretty much, he will be remember as a great talent that had zero courage. thats his legacy and he did it to him self.

Floyd's resume: Hernandez, Castillo, Corrales, Judah, Mosley, Marquez, Hatton, De la hoya, Cotto. Floyd earned his first title in the 90s. Dude has been undefeated for 3 decades. fukk else you want?
