I think it’s almost impossible to keep Yabu at this point. He’ll get offers from a lot of teams that can pay him more whether they are contenders or not. If a middling or even bad team decides to cash him out what can we do . People think only contenders will go after him, which give us a chance financially to retain him. Because most of the contenders don’t have much if any cap space like us. He has no incentive to stay with us if anyone offers him more money.

If Oubre picks up his $8.38M option, we can use the $14.1 MLE on Yabu, then give Grimes $15m using his bird rights.
