RVD and The Bucks have hated each other since their TNA days. Of course he’s going to trash their company, so I wouldn’t take anything he says about AEW at face value. Even if he did want to go there it would have never happened, and he knows that.
RVD did an interview when The Bucks left TNA calling them disrespectful because they didn’t follow old school locker room etiquette. The Bucks responded on Twitter and basically said RVD was a liar and a clout chaser. After that RVD had his friends in WWE bury The Bucks to management when they had a tryout a few months later. The backlash really hurt their careers at the time.
