(Mature discussion) Let's talk about rape/death penalty

Rape of children justify's death penalty and premeditated murder also.

Someone said something about principle earlier, ya just off a principle child molester deserve death penalty and miss me with that thing about fixing them or they didnt know what they were dong. A child's life is devastated after something like that happens, no amount of psychological help them or can take back what happened to them. The death of abuser doesn't either but it is just punishment IMO.

Premeditated murder is just common sense to me, if someone goes out of there way to plan the murder of another person, why should they allowed to live? In prison for there whole life? Food and shelter there whole life?

As much as rapists probably deserve it, I'm against the death penalty just on principle.

It doesn't save money, it's biased, and I don't really trust the government to decide whether someone lives or dies. So just throw them in prison for life.

The only crime that deserves the death penalty is murder, and even then the way the death penalty is implemented is very flawed. If it was up for vote I'd vote to get rid of it.

I don't support the death penalty in any case. The death penalty is not applied evenly, costs more than life imprisonment due to cost of prosecution and appeals and is not a clear deterrent as the homicide rate is higher in states with the death penalty than those without. However, I'm alright if a victim kills the rapist in self-defense during the act as others have mentioned.

on a side note some quick "google" scholarly work netted me some facts that i don't feel like copy and pasting but one of the things that fuked me up the most were these two statistics...they are statistics so take them for what they are worth.

it's estimated that 1 in 4 girls / woman have been sexually assaulted in some way shape or form in their lifetime.
