The Republican playbook since 2015 is to play to the court of public opinion first and foremost. This is what they lean on so that they can call something a "witch hunt" or overall unjust process. The fatigue you have from constantly hearing about these cases but seeing no results will be the prime point of defense - "if my client was so guilty or such a monster, then why did it take law enforcement X number of months/years to charge my client?"

Make no mistake, most of the news/leaks from these cases come from the accused or their legal team.

MSNBC and CNN have the biggest role in hyping up very weak case against republicans 5 nights a week and 2 mornings every weekend. i have seen this effect on my own family watching MSNBC and then thinking trump was going to be removed from office in handcuffs.

thankfully, this gaetz stuff looks substantial.
