The older I get, the more jaded I become. I think at this point, I'm too emotionally detached and immature to even have a relationship.
Either way, this is a big step for me to actively try to step away from using hookers and get sex the normal way

You should give it try, because its beats the alternative.
And after being numb, its time to face the music in a relationship/normal dating.
It might be tough to readjusting/reconnecting but the girls are general easy.
There is more of a formality on match as my buddy said. There are alot of girls window shopping/some girls enjoy being wanted/ego boosting and its there are a lot of guys macking to the girls. So you have to make the effort to meet the girls. Generally the girls could got on the 1st or 2nd date, with the come over to the house to kick it/movie it line, but there is also stiff competition for the girls.
You might also want to set sights on quality of girls versus quantity of girls if looking to settle down.
