japan arguably did worse things in china then the nazis did... at least on the same scale, its hard to put shyt like that behind you especially now that the prc is an emerging power... any war between them now probably wont be more than a couple naval skirmishes tho i doubt either one of them is trying to set off ww3 like that and the u.s. is gettin too much money with both

I thought the Japanese didn't have a truly standing Military, and the United States is under obligation to protect them? Excuse me for my ignorance if I am wrong, but I thought that was explicitly sought after in the surrender terms of WWII.

they dont have a traditional military per se cuz there aint no such thing as a japanese ARMY anymore... the japanese DEFENSE () force however is one of the best trained groups of combatants on the planet with some of the best gear too... and yea technically the us is obliged to defend them but they are isolating themselves politically with dikkhead moves like they've been doing... they're basically spitting in china's face with this move to buy the islands cuz they never really apologized or paid reparations to the hundreds of thousands of murder / rape victims from ww2... at least the germans suck israels dikk as hard as they can to make up for what they did
