Beto should have run for the senate. If he was a better candidate or had even the slightest support (say 5% in national polls) this could have helped him in the presidential primary but he is under 3% in most polls. Pete took all his momentum and never gave it back.

This would have been an electric moment for a senate campaign in Texas. Maybe he'd still lose...but he would have a far better shot in Texas than he does to win the presidential nom.
