There needs to basically be a ban on non military, non law enforcement people, having the right to carry firearms. It's that simple, and people caught with illegal firearms, that mandatory sentence should double. But you can't have mandatory sentences without the first part, that's why the violence isn't stopping...

You don't, this plan doesn't operate in the fantasy that guns will magically disappear...

The idea is that for future generations this would be a transcendent move. There would be no more stores that sell guns because they would no longer be available to the public. The outrage you'd have in the interim would be paid off by a decline in gun violence in the future, a smarter and safer country...

And when this initiative is taken, the second part is that nationwide, the you have to double the penalty for guys who are caught with illegal firearms, but Part 2 can't work without Part 1...
