It lends itself to be an amazing TV show but they the need a stupid high budget for the action and set pieces they require. Now, there's a version of Mass Effect that's less epic than the game and can still be very effective and compelling so they could go that route too.

You got to build a giant cast
The whole recruit and loyalty mission
Then, you got Shadow Broker. Arrival, and Overlord DLC

I guess you would also make The Mercenary, Grunt, Kasumi, Samara, Jacob, Thane, and Jack subject to being cut altogether from the series.

You at minimum need 2 or 3 seasons for Mass Effect 2.
