@amydiehl Men know how exhausting this is, right? If not, pay attention, talk to female co-workers and friends. We are always walking on the edge of smile, don't smile too much; be assertive, don't be too assertive; and so on, just to get our jobs done.

@amydiehl And, don't forget the final option: Leave.We don't do DEI things to be nice to women or minorities, we do them because we want to hire the best people and significantly more than half of those are not straight white men. A company that can hire from a small talent pool cannot compete with one that hires from a much larger one. Come and work for companies that will value you. If a company says women make up 52% of the population, so let's build our hiring and retention policies on the assumption that we don't want to employ any of them, they're immediately limiting their candidate pool to 48% of potential applicants. Imagine going into HR and saying 'as a first pass, I want you to remove 52% of applicants for this job. Don't bother reading their qualifications'. You wouldn't be fired for violating some inclusivity policy, you'd be fired for being irredeemably stupid. So good luck to all of the companies that are saying that implicitly.
