Saoirse looking scrumptious. Margot went out of her way to look horrific :hhh:

They were doomed to butt heads. Elizabeth refused to marry because she didn't want a man ruling for her + her mom was executed and branded a traitor, so at any point anyone of the conniving English nobles could've flipped on her for her cousin Mary. On some you ain't the real Queen your mom was a traitor anyway type shyt. And then Mary wasn't brought up in Scotland, she was married to the Prince of France at one point, and had claim to England, so the nobles in Scotland didn't consider her a real native to Scotland. Plus, she was a girl. They were trying to murk her off too like the nobles in England was trying to murk off Elizabeth. So Mary rushed to get married, have a kid/heir and protect herself from the cats up there who wanted her gone. And in the process of her doing that to protect her own neck, the nobles who supported Mary started to realize they could easily get alot more support from everyone to make her Queen of England and Scotland since Mary had the cleaner background/claim, a kid already and a husband with ties to England too. Hearing them rumors made Elizabeth more :francis: towards her cousin because she knew firsthand from her moms that shyt could get very real out there. The coolest thing about both of them is neither really wanted to hurt the other, they had to make moves to protect themselves and both of them being around meant they'd always be used as pawns for anyone that wanted the other one gone.

Ain't Mary ultimately try to get Elizabeth killed tho? Which is why they beheaded Mary when they found out.

Speaking of Mary Queen of Scots, I've been binge-watching The CW's "Reign" series that ended after 4 seasons last year:

@prophecypro "Regin" is actually a solid entertaining show. If you like the political drama & religious drama elements of "Game of Thrones", you like this show too.

:dead: I think you might've spoiled the rest of the series for me. I'm only in the first half of season 2, but based on the IMDb cast list Queen Elizabeth is supposed to be a big part of the series later on. She was talked about & mentioned a lot in the 1st season.

Towards the end, they both were trying to do each other but, at first, I think Mary would've left Elizabeth alone had she left her alone. Its just that, from what I know about the situation, Elizabeth's upbringing would never let her rest having her cousin out there though. Her mom got killed in a brutal way so she probably had nightmares about getting killed like that. The man she wanted to marry was too low for her while the guys that wanted to marry her just wanted to be king and rule over her. The nobles didn't respect her for being an unmarried female ruler with no kids. At any point the people could've took her off the throne. She was probably paranoid as shyt every single day. Then she looks at her cousin, who from her perspective, is making power moves by marrying this important person, aligning with that important person, having this and that noble as allies...it looked like Mary was gonna press her claim as Queen. And I think Mary did eventually say she was the real Queen of England (Elizabeth was taken out the line of succession by her father, and only became Queen after her sister Bloody Mary put her back in the line so Mary had a slight point in saying that) so, even if her cousin Mary was saying or promising that she would let her retire in peace somewhere, Elizabeth knew if Mary became Queen, there would be like a 95% chance she got murked. Long story short, imo, I don't think either wanted to do each other. I think Elizabeth was too paranoid to let it go. I think Mary had to choose her alliances carefully because she had to protect her own neck. The more power Mary got, the more paranoid Elizabeth became. So they started beefing for real.

My bad bruh :dead: The War of the Roses always fascinated me because Game of Thrones is based on it. So naturally I started reading about the later generations of the Tudors. And yea...I spoiled about 80% of Reign with my post....my bad bro :dead:

:lupe: I quit on Showtime's "The Tudors" after watching only the 1st season a few years ago. They mentioned the Tudors' dynasty so often in the 1st season of "Reign", I feel like I gotta get back into that show. I didn't know they were tied into the War of the Roses.

Yea, basically you had the Plantagenent family. They ruled England. I forgot the King’s name (gotta look it up again) but when he died several branches (his kids and grandkids) of the family started fighting for the throne. On one side you had the Yorks/House of York. The other side the Lancasters/House of Lancaster. The York side won and held the throne briefly. There were three York brothers. Edward, George, Richard. Edward became king but died after a while. George was put to death for conspiring against his brothers. And Richard became king after Edward died. He was kinda grimey because he killed/made Edward’s sons (his nephews) disappear so he could fully be King. He was only King briefly because the Lancasters came back. Henry Tudor was a b*stard son whose mom had ancestry to the Lancasters and thus the House of Plantagenent. So he went to war with Richard III and killed him. Became King. But he decided not to take the name Lancaster, decided to marry the former King Edward’s daughter to unite the Yorks and the Lancasters and he decided to call the new family the Tudors. This ended the War of the Roses for good. Henry Tudor’s son was Henry the 8th. That Henry the 8th :wow: Henry the 8th’s daughter was Elizabeth. Henry the 8th chopped off Elizabeth’s mom’s head and disinherited her. That’s why she was paranoid about getting killed by her enemies. Henry the 8th’s first wife Catherine who was from Spain had a daughter by him named Mary too. Henry tried to fukk them over too but Mary eventually became Queen anyway (they called her Bloody Mary) and put her half sister Elizabeth back in the line to be Queen. Henry Tudor had a daughter that he sent to Scotland to marry the king there. She was Henry the 8th’s sister. Her granddaughter ending up being Mary, Queen of Scots. That’s how it all ties together. Elizabeth was Henry Tudor’s granddaughter and Mary Queen of Scots (not to be confused with Elizabeth’s older half sister Mary) was Henry Tudor’s great granddaughter. They both had a claim. Mary was further away being the granddaughter of his daughter while Elizabeth was the daughter of his son but since Elizabeth was disinherited by her father and only became Queen because of her sister Mary putting her back in the succession, people that supported Mary Queen of Scots said she was more worthy of being the Queen of England. Thus the beef :manny: In the end Mary Queen of Scots “won” because her son James became the King of England and Scotland anyway finally uniting the two countries.

I just got done watching this movie. Anybody who's watched The CW's "Reign" shouldn't even bother wasting their time watching this film. This movie just felt like a WAY LESS enjoyable & entertaining rehash of the last couple seasons of "Reign" with less attractive females. God Damn, Queen Mary & Queen Elizabeth in this movie are ugly AF compared to their counterparts on "Reign" and it really brothered me.
