Yeah in his Biography it talks about how Marvin was obsessed with the nuclear holocaust. He'd talk about how it was his job to warn the people of the incoming danger. All the coke towards the end of his life really made him paranoid. Him being brought real religious with emphasis placed on Revelation in his upbringing didn't help either. He breaks down the album cover in his book, when I get home and if I have time I'll post it up.

What's Going On is easily one of the best albums of all time fukk the Beatles. You listen to that album today and it's as true now as it was then.

"I just want to ask a question
Who really cares?
To save a world in despair
There'll come a time, when the world won't be singin'
Flowers won't grow, bells won't be ringin'
Who really cares?
Who's willing to try to save a world
That's destined to die
When I look at the world it fills me with sorrow
Little children today are really gonna suffer tomorrow
Oh what a shame, such a bad way to live
All who is to blame, we can't stop livin'
Live, live for life
But let live everybody
Live life for the children
Oh, for the children
You see, let's save the children
Let's save all the children
Save the babies, save the babies
If you wanna love, you got to save the babies
All of the children
But who really cares
Who's willing to try
Yes, to save a world
Yea, save our sweet world
Save a world that is destined to die
Oh, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
Oh, oh dig it everybody"

It's the BEST..

After a master tape of a rough draft of Gaye's In Our Lifetime? album was stolen and taken to Motown's Los Angeles headquarters in 1980, Motown remixed the album and released it on January 15, 1981.[71] When he learned of its release, Gaye accused Motown of editing and remixing the album without his consent, allowing the issue of an unfinished production ("Far Cry"), altering the album art of his request and removing the album title's question mark, muting its irony.[72] Gaye then promised not to record any more music for Motown.[73]
