First episode put me to sleep.

Off episode 1, this has the potential to be the best Disney + original. This series has the least amount of reliance on nostalgia or it's ties to upcoming tentpole films. I'm more than down for an espionage action/thriller. This is Disney+ tho, so I might have to temper my expectations on the thriller part. I also might have to set my ceiling for social commentary at what we saw in this episode. Comic book readers know how Sam Wilson's turn as Cap went with the incel community. I doubt Disney is willing to alienate that demographic by keeping it really real. Action was on point and almost on par with Cap 2. I really want to see Anthony Clarence Mackie win. He's been a sidekick for too long. Hopefully he does his thing here.

This show opened up with Sam committing mass murder in the first 10 minutes and then Bucky shooting up a hotel in the next 8


Not to mention the use of shyt was used several times which correct me if I’m wrong. But isn’t a word you’ll see a lot in many other Disney programming and shows

That Scene where Bucky realized he murked the old man’s son during his winter soldier days.

Bucky knew way before that. That’s why he befriended the old man and had him on his list of atonements. He’s trying to work up the courage to tell the old man he killed his son.

Wasn’t that what spider-man 2 was about? I don’t think theres anything wrong with going into their backstories, i mean it’s a tv show thats to be expected but that doesn’t mean their personal lives gotta be so glum either.

Sam trying to save the shrimp boat... I mean? It’s not really as entertaining as being trapped in a altered reality with your dead android boyfriend reliving your childhood tv shows.

Niccas said they wanted more ground and real realty shyt. That’s what this show so far is. And damn I’m sure it’s gonna be enough murders and explosions.

But since it’s a series, I don’t think it’s a big deal showing that these guys ain’t Falcon and Winter Soldier 24/7

If I’m being honest Steve isn’t that interesting outside of jumping off buildings and knocking nikkas heads in either i guess. All that “Steve you need to date” shyt in winter soldier was the worst parts of the movie.

I got that the moment he asked if 40YO Sam Wilson played for LSU. Them turning around and giving generic CAC Soldier #3 the shield after Sam was gracious enough to give it back to the government drove the point home that no matter how (mostly) clean you and your resume is, America ain’t having a black man representing it on the world stage in that fashion.

... But I still gotta get these jokes off, breh. Tony Stark ain’t alive to slander himself.
