Loki breh???:russ:

Come on:russ:

Don't see what's funny breh.

Loki was a villain that killed 80+ people in the first "Avengers".

They turned him into a joke side character/anti-hero. He was straight up comic relief in "Ragnarok".

Zemo was a villain that bombed the UN and killed the king of Wakanda in "Civil War".

Now he's hanging out with Falcon and Bucky, dancing and being used as fodder for memes.

The major difference is they took damn near a decade to do it with Loki. The last time we seen Zemo, he was literally a full blown terrorist that hated the Avengers. The jump from that to this series is jarring as fukk. Go re-watch "Civil War", then his first appearance in this series. It's damn near a completely different character.

Dude Loki was doing stuff like this in his first movie after the avengers.

Wasn't any ten year build to his comedy.

Also outside of the club dance scene. most of the comedy with Zemo has been coming from people reacting to him, and not really the character himself. Zemo's problem isn't really being too funny, the problem is they are making him more likeable than he really should be. They heroes should feel a little more dirty dealing with him, instead he just seem like another one of their buddies.

I mean.....Marvel released an hour long video of Zemo dancing. I wouldn't say that's too far off from what they did to Loki.

Honestly Loki hasn't been a threat since the first Avengers movie. But that was 9 years ago. They had time to make him a side kick/anti-hero/comic relief.

The last time we seen Zemo was "Civil War", where he blew up the UN and killed King T'Chaka. I'm not really trying to see dude be funny or dance or be an ally in his very first appearance since that. It's way too soon.

Fred.

His character has been very consistent.

Zemo is a manipulator who can't be a threat physically so he has to disarm his opponents by appearing non threatening. That was the point of the scene with the kids and the candy, he's doing the same thing to Sam and Bucky that he did in that scene.

He is being helpful offering them something they want to get what he wants. The dancing in the club with them is the same as walking up to the kids singing a nursery rhyme. He's getting them to drop their guard long enough to kill his targets, destroy the serum and escape when needed. It's so good and subtle that it works on the audience to make you blind to the fact that he's winning right now.

His hatred of super soldiers is even established in Civil War when he kills the ones in stasis. He could have controlled them to attack the Avengers when they showed up or when their guard was down at a later date but he didn't want them in the world.

Appearing as Cap when he's the God Of Mischief is not remotely on the same level as "Ragnarok". If you compare "Avengers" to "The Dark World", it's more or less the same character. If you compare "Avengers" to "Ragnarok", it's obviously not. Which is fine because again, 9 years.

Zemo tried to get the Avengers to kill each other, then his very next appearance is dancing in a club with Falcon and Bucky....if you would've told me that's his character arc I would've thought you were trolling.

And yeah, his likeability is another factor. It should be close to zero. You can relate to a villain (which was exactly where he was in "Civil War", they killed his family so he wanted revenge) =/= you like him. Which is another parallel to Loki. He's a fan favorite now.

He had no reason to actively save them. He could've left them to die when they were outnumbered. Instead he killed the rest of the goons then escorted them to safety in a stolen car.

Never mind the fact that he created fake personas to keep them safe in Madripoor.

As I said earlier in the thread, Falcon and Bucky brought nothing to the table. Zemo knew about Madripoor, the woman they met, the doctor, etc. Falcon and Bucky were basically just there because it's their series. :mjlol:

Zemo had no reason to work with them at any point in the last two eps. He could've used them as body guards to get into Madripoor then abandon them but again....he saved them. For no apparent reason. Well, besides plot armor.

If I'm not mistaken Sam got them the info on the mother figure who died which allowed them to get to the camp where Zemo talked to the kids. Zemo's mission isn't just his freedom, it's to eliminate the serum and the super soldiers. He wasn't going to abandon any resources until he was sure he had to. Also if the theory that Sharon is the power broker is true he and he knows then he couldn't abandon her to die without putting a target on his back.

Probably in the minority, but I really hope US Agent doesn't die. Wyatt Russell does an excellent job of playing this a$$hole. I want to see him in future MCU stuff.

There's so much potential in Walker, aren't we getting the Thunderbolts?

I know Zemo is a strong point in that team but with him being against super powered folk (to a ridiculous degree honestly :martin:), maybe they replace him with US Agent :patrice:

This show hasn't really landed with me so far. I like it, but it's just good and not great with me so far.

I'll say this, though. It's really dope seeing Falcon and Bucky get so much screen time. They've always been 2 of my favorite actors and characters in the MCU, and I think it's dope they got their own show.

I did like the ending moments of the most recent episode. It seemed almost like a meta-commentary on America, and what we do overseas. The blood on the shield was a powerful image.

Is he the same dude that played the football jock that Channing Tatum became super good friends with in 22 Jump Street? :jbhmm:

My feeling is since flag smashers are superhumans and zemo has strong feelings against them. Especially since these ones have been doing terrorist attacks. So I'm wondering maybe he's using Sam and bucky as a means to an end so he can take them out himself :jbhmm:
And probably use them to take out the source of the super soldier serums since he knows a lot :jbhmm:
Otherwise yeah I don't see why he'd fukk with them

It's being written as him using them as a means to an end but if you sit and think about it....they offer him nothing.

The only reason he needed them was as muscle in Madripoor, that's it. Every other piece of info about the serum, has come from Zemo. Madripoor? Zemo. The woman they met in Madripoor? Zemo. The doctor that was making the serum? Again, Zemo.

Hell, Sam and Bucky couldn't even figure out when the funeral was on their own. That was all Zemo.

So I have no idea what exactly Sam and Bucky bring to the table, that he would need help with.

It would make sense if Zemo double crossed them in Madripoor, after he killed the doctor and the goons showed up. It was a perfect opportunity to abandon them. But he saved them and then helped them escape.:mjlol:

He finally bounced last week but he had zero reason to stick around that long.

I’m wondering if he would get his own series. To see how he treks on his own path after these events
