She one of the puriest (meaning most innocent) character in the marvel universe.
For example she feeds acorns to squirrels and other rodents, so she carries them around with her. She calls those pouches on her hip her "Nutsacks" cause she is too innocent to see the hilarity in that.


She gets away with saying stuff the other characters cant cause its innocent when she says it. So, if you are standing too close to her she might say "Hey, back up off my nuts already"

They cant use the correct roster cause Firestar is an X-Man liscence and Namorita is (obviously) a Namor license. So Fox and Universal should have rights to them at the moment. Scarlet Spider is a spidey licence... so he's out.

That only leaves Night Thrasher and Speedball and Justice.
They went out of their way not to mention Nova in Guardians of Galaxy despite using the nova corps as the police for the movie so idk if they'll use him
Maybe they were saving him for this. But the cops in GotG are the Nova Corps.

All the avengers issues I have of her she is just babysitting Luke Cage/Jessica Jones kid. She isn't even an actual avenger, she is just their nanny so they can be avengers despite having an infant.
She fits to me.
You want somebody to watch your kid. Really you need a hero to do it cause of the possible dangers from villains... but only a bottom tier hero will sign up to be a babysitter... so its perfect.

She refers to herself as Earth's Mightest Nanny.

That was the old Avengers book; Squirrel Girl is an actual active, in the field team member of the New Avengers team that Sunspot is the leader of.

Oh. Yeah I can see the adversion. I wouldn't read that, it doesn't sound like an A-list roster.
I don't mind D-List heros like squirrel girl existing as long as they are handled and treated accordingly. When she was on the Great Lakes Avengers that was fine. When she was Luke Cage's kid's babysitter that was the perfect spot for her. I don't see her as Avengers-tier. She is getting that 1-2-3 Kid push just cause she is popular. Now they got her beating Razor Ramon every match.

Thats how you end up with an X-Pac everyone hates.

I suggested Ellie Kemper for this role awhile back. Squirrel Girl is basically Kimmy Schmidt with superpowers.

I'd absolutely be down for a Netflix MCU hallway fight with squirrels getting involved

Characters are in catagories accourding to brand for how Marvel liscenses stuff.

When I worked at Activision we had the liscence to X-Men, Fan-4, Spidey, etc... but Universal held the license to Hulk. So we had to get a deal worked out to get Hulk into Marvel Ultimate Alliance... it took years to work out and wasnt finalized by release (thats why Colosus is in the game, he was a hulk placeholder last minute). So hulk got released months after as DLC. However despite the hoops we had to jump thru to get Hulk, we had access to She-Hulk right away as long as we included her Fantastic Four uniform, because as an official member of the Fan-4 she was also under our liscence despite being a Hulk offshoot.

So its weird.

Correct. Him being a mutant doesnt automatically bundle him with the X-Man brand.
For example Xavin is a super skrull but has zero connection to fantastic four.
So while whoever owns the Fan-4/Surfer liscence has the skrull/kree stuff, the character of Xavin is unlikely to be included in that bundle.

I know that character is an obscure examble... but its because most characters that have been around for awhile eventually end up on 5+ teams. She is a good example of a character in one brand (Runaways) using a species from another brand but otherwise unassociated.

Marvel & Disney are always missing oppritunities by not doing crossovers where it makes sense.
Squirrel Girl's main squirrel at the moment is a squirrel named Tipy Toe... but no one knows that. They need to just give her Gadget from Rescue Rangers. They aren't using that character for anything... it would be a classic morron smartperson team-up with squirrel girl being the clutz.

Now that I'm looking at gadget I just noticed shes a mouse. I always thpought she was a sqyurrel for some reason.
Can a chipmunk fk a mouse? Cause wasn't Chip n Dale tryna smash? Now I'm confused
