Lol they'll probably still make it but after 2020. I think that's Spiderman 2 or Indian Jones now

Inhumans Release Date Pulled From Marvel Calendar

It seems like every few weeks we hear an announcement about yet another superhero movie getting added to the release calendar, but today’s news is about taking one off of it. Marvel has pulled Inhumans off its 2019 slate, confirming Kevin Feige‘s recent admission that the picture would probably get delayed.

Marvel broke the news very late Friday afternoon, as PR professionals usually do when they’re hoping no one makes too big a deal out of their bad news. Inhumans was originally set for release on November 2, 2018 and then pushed back to July 12, 2019 when Marvel added Spider-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp to its Phase Three plans.

Feige acknowledged earlier this month that the film was likely to get pushed back again, but said he wasn’t sure to what date, and it seems Marvel still hasn’t decided. Deadline‘s sources insist the project hasn’t been cancelled, just delayed, echoing Feige’s earlier comments that Inhumans was just “a question of when.”

it's not a big deal unless you're a hardcore inhumans stan, and if you are :manny:

Problem is there's nothing sexy about them that would make them a priority. There's only about 3, maybe 4 characters that the general audience may even vaguely remember (from a fantastic four cartoon) and one of them is a dog with a mustache. The other two is yet another red haired white woman and her husband -whose powers are the franchise's main attraction but also pretty much make him a mute white dude 95% of the time. The rest are either ugly lookin monstrosities or just more white folks by n large.

So at face value there's not a diversity angle to cash in on (blacks, hispanics, women, etc) without race bending blackbolt or something; and the characters themselves aren't that popular or heavily requested anyway. Ms Marvel is probably the best and most popular, and she's barely a few years into creation and hardly tied to the main franchise. So pretty much they'll get around to it when they get around to it

I'm not surprised because they even though they're pushing the Inhumans hard in the comics they're still barely grabbing people's attention. When you can't even get your core fans to start caring, it might be best to hold off on dropping 150+ million on a movie.

215 Uptown!
Not surprising. Spiderman and antman being a hit change focuses. We'll get it eventually but that date is 100% for spidey 2 now. Especially since it's the first movie after Infinity wars.

I think this has more to do with the movie side wanting no parts of anything to do with the TV side and for better or worse, The Inhumans have become too connected to the Agents of SHIELD TV show and that stink just aint coming off. I don't see an Inhumans movie ever getting done and the Inhumans will continue to be solely a part of AOS.

:ohhh: Looks like Inhumans was never a priority for Feige and it was only a way to get a Captain Marvel movie. This is all interesting stuff...

What I Was Told About The Inhumans Movie Last Year

Last year, at the New York Comic Con, I was told by well connected senior individuals that a memo had gone out to Marvel senior staffers saying that the Inhumans move was to be “deprioritised” at Disney/Marvel.

I was told that it was expected that the Inhumans movie would be delayed, dropped off the slate and eventually done away with, with the reason to be given that they didn’t find the right director with the right vision or some such.

But the real reason was that Inhumans was a Isaac Perlmutter-pushed project and was only on the slate in the first place if Kevin Feige was allowed his own Captain Marvel project on the slate, something Perlmutter wasn’t as keen on. And last year the two split badly and Perlmutter and the rest of the comics side of the company were removed from involvement with the film side of Marvel Studios (though they kept the TV shows).

The Bleeding Cool report was much mocked at the time (there’s a pattern for that). But the Inhumans movie was delayed, and has now been dropped off the slate for 2019 without a replacement date.

Lots of reasons are being given. And, as I said, all I knew was what I was told late last year and plenty of things can happen between then and now.

But since that original report suddenly seems to be getting a bunch of traffic I thought I’d at least try to give some additional context.
