Marvel movies are mediocre

Iron man 1 holds up but dont care to ever see it again

Captain America: never make it through a viewing....always puts me to sleep....

Winter soldier (though after repeated viewings the shaking cam and editing during fight scenes stand out like a sore thumb) will still watch but fast forward to the fights

Civil war (first watch):
(once you realize it's not based on the comic and is just a series of nice action set pieces strung together by a bullshyt story with no real stakes...besides vision crippling Rhoadie, his own gahdamn teammate, and T'challa's father dying ) can rewatch it tho...

Thor 3: entertaining, funny, Hela kicks ass Thor loses an eye Hulk has NO chill....Valkyrie dont feel the need to rewatch tho...

Antman 1& 2:


Infinity war: after a ten year fukking build up....the moment we all been waiting for...Thanos becomes a God but takes a axe to the chest

Hulk gets washed and rides the bench for the remainder of the movie for "reasons"
Meanwhile Black Widow is washing Thanos' day ones easy(these the same cats that killed the asgardians at the beginning of the movie)

Thanos throws a moon during a fight and doesn't hit ANYONE, not even a fleshwound (it looks cool, tho)

We get to see Wakanda's technological advances in action....

Thanos stabs Tony but it's cool, Tony immediately heals himself

Thanos decides to kill half the universe not because hes in love with death (like in the comics) but because he wants to restore balance...theres not enough resources for the inhabitants....but with the power of a God he could've created more resources ...dumbass

Thanos sacrifices Gammora(the Dresden files did it better)

Thor hits Gawd-Thanos with a axe (repeated for emphasis)

The Gauntlet breaks after the finger snap for "reasons"

Ebony maw goes from having one of the goat fight scenes (fighting spiderman, iron man and Dr. Strange) to jobber

Marvel movies (or should I say "the Marvel movie"- since it's really one huge story?), is wildly ambitious and largely entertaining. We're lucky to be alive to see such a feat. We might never again.

True, but it's not above criticism and a lot of the entries are mediocre....and this is coming from a marvel fan...

I agree regarding the amount of mediocre films, but still. We'll have to see how it ends, but to me, it's shaping up to be much more than the sum of it's parts.

No but if people want to include comic book movies amongst all time great movies, then yea they need to have the tangibles that make movies great & rewatchable. You see most comic book movies once, you don't really need to see them again

No one calls any single movie "classic", "perfect" or "four out of four stars'. Like 5 to 7 tops out of 21 movies get the "really good" label while the rest are just considered "good" or "average". Is that overrated? I don't think so they get rated pretty appropriately, it's just the fact that they are "all connected" unlike all other movies raises the profile. And they have captured the cultural zeitgeist at the height of the superhero film genre makes it extra special. It's Star Wars for this generation, that cannot no matter the quality of each individual movie or alternative sources of entertainment that are better be underrated. Other studios have tried and failed to copy rhe formula as well which makes Marvel's accomplishment that much more impressive.

no...I watch Marvel movies more than once but I am not calling them all-time great movies. They entertain me- its not that complicated
