How did a single joke panel hint at a gay relationship?
No one in here is actually reading the book and the articles in the OP are some comics gate bullshyt.

@Luke Cage protect Harlem at all costs my g, once again the black man gotta hold it dine
Jean Grey fukked with Iceman's headThey need to quit playing and make a new character, IMO.
Cyclops has been pulling the baddest women in the X-men universe from Day 1. Jean Grey, Colleen Wing, Lee Forrester, Emma Frost... even Psylocke was fiending for him in the 90s. Dude was THE alpha leader and was never afraid to step to Logan, the Sentinels, Magneto, Apocalypse, Sinister, etc. A lot of cats sleep on Cyclops because of his portrayal in the movies and cartoon, but he handles business in the comics.
And Logan is one of the poster-children for alpha anti-heroes. He's been catching bodies from the very beginning. Wolverine has always been about killing ninjas, being a loner, throwing hands with Sabretooth, and crushing on women he'll never actually get. Making him and Scott gay makes ZERO sense for either character.
(Unpopular opinion: I don't think it makes sense for Iceman either.)
Northstar on the other hand is alright. He was gay from the jump, so the writers weren't contradicting over half a century worth of history when they brought him out of the closet. Its one thing to come out with a gay character, just be original about it. Give us somebody cool like Revolver Ocelot, or Omar in the Wire. Changing up characters with 50+ year histories just to generate headlines just feels lazy and desperate. As much as I don’t condone violence and bullying against the lgbt community, it needs to be said that gay is NOT the new black, and never will be.
This is what I keep saying about the death of comic books though. They aren't written to entertain regular people anymore, and they aren't marketed to young people so they can grow up with the characters. Now you have too many fanboys running the industry who are only writing to entertain other fanboys and/or push their politics on the readers. Everyone's so desperate to out-"woke" one-another that they forgot to tell good stories.

this is what happens when something lasts too long. It either dies a classic or becomes gay. just like hiphop music
@Art Barr has been saying for the longest that the comics fell off completely when Jim Lee quit.
I don't heavily mess with X-men outisde of the Chris Claremont era, but the more I hear about what's going on with the books today, I'm more and more inclined to believe him. I really wanted to hold out hope that things would get better once Disney got the rights back.
I just hope the MCU X-men take their inspiration from golden years of the Claremont X-men run, not this new millennium faux-Watchmen nonsense they're coming out with today.
Where would you brehs officially say that the comics jumped the shark?
angels too
the cuckoos do that shyt too
mutant psychics are fukking scum
Gays wanting to fukk each other is not a CRM.You can tell who is a CAC when they ignore that that the X-Men is and has always been an analogy for the Civil Rights Movement
