The Dark Elf in Thor 2 has been the villain that thus far done the most damage of all the villains in practically all the cinematic universes. He showed he was a threat by coming to the most powerful realm Asgard and nearly destroyed it, killed the queen, had the king like, left unscathed, ultimately got what he wanted (the ether) then killed more millions on earth. Asgard (again the most powerful realm) is still trying to pick up the piece and a wounded and distraught Odin wasnt even built to take down Loki who on any other circumstance wouldnt be able to see him in any shape or fashion.... hence a large reason why Loki never stepped to him

Theres too much "faux outrage" with the Marvel villains and its gets to the point where too many lies and bs over take the facts.
At the end of the day..... my bet is Galactus wont be a fukking cloud and Dr. Doom will actually be closer to who he really is which is a ruler of a country with actual powers and technology vs some pompous rich guy from NY or a broke hacker

I don't think that'll work for much longer IMO I always felt like villains are essential for the hero to really overcome the odds stacked up against him or her when the villain is threatening and credible. Look at Spider-man 2 part of the reason the movie gets such acclaim is the characterization of Doc Ock.
Then use Galactus as the main villain for the new phases.Dr Doom showing up at the eventual death/fall of Thanos
