The prosecution introduced those vague ass text messages to establish a pattern of violence. The peanut gallery took those messages to mean that he hit her on the night he was on trial for and not as a completely different scenario. While he may have hit her and other women in the past, he did not hit her on the night in question, which is why he only got a misdemeanor and a violation.
People who did not want to put their names on the record came out the woodwork to paint him as a violent individual from the time he was at Yale, as if Yale University would let a Black man run around their theater school putting hands on people under the guise of method acting and not have kicked him out if enough of them complained.
She faked a suicide attempt after being on the phone with one of her homegirls prior to him coming home. This was also after she went to a bar with some strangers. He went to a hotel and stayed off the streets.
The jury, armed with this evidence, and the video of him running for his life, made the call they felt was best. He didn't hit her, he got his phone from her and put her back in the car and in the act of doing that, there was reckless injury, an injury so minor that she was able to run after his ass for blocks in fukking Manhattan.
All this trial served to do was make him look like a headcase to the peanut gallery and further justify their dislike of his African ass features, and knock off almost 2 years of his career. Do I think he's crazy? Absolutely. Do I hope Megan know how to fight or got some gang banging cousins? Definitely. But this shyt was a joke from the beginning.
