I like the Marvel movies, but they get weaker the more that are released - because tonally, they're all the same fukking shyt.

With DC though, it looks like we're getting wildly different tones in 2 out of 3 of the DCU movies.
What are the wildly different tones? We don't even know what DCs movies are like yet and tonally they look like they are going for dark aesthetics literally and figuratively like MOS.

Dc and marvel are creating universes, their movies are for the most part going to have the same tone. There won't be major tone shifts besides just getting weirder (as already mentioned dr strange, Thor 3, gotg 2 for marvel and probably aquaman and Wonder Woman and shazaam for DC) but marvel won't take itself too seriously at the end of the day because that's the universe they've created and DC will probably stay somber and dark for contrast.

Oh and for the record. Will Smith will regret not going to team Marvel :francis:

Na.... He actually in a way right where he belongs. A few years back he was once offered the role of Superman, but he turned it down for obvious reasons and anticipation that fans wouldn't go for that. Later he did Hancock

Wow. Yeah that shyt matches up! That's cool!

Suicide squad trailer just released. :wow: DC treating us like adults outchea :takedat:

Not even a huge comic book movie fan, but I liked this trailer for that reason alone. As a kid I liked Marcel more for sure. But I just want a good movie. I hope this movie is Rated R. It looks like it could be? I didn't really love all the Joker tats, and it almost sounds like he's doing a half Ledger impersonation, but I like that he's being dark and psychotic. I know NOTHING about Suicide Squad. I know Harley Quinn is the Joker's girlfriend or something, right? I don't know Croc, or Deadshot, or any of the other characters. I just dig the vibe it looks like they went for. I'll definitely be checking this out!

And that's exactly what I mean, I want some character development something that Marvel has failed to do for the past few movies, everything will go dark for a few mins, then is back to the buddy-buddy comedy.

Haven't read many comic books. But I always heard that Marvel comics were great because they had more realistic and flawed characters and dealt with darker and heavier and more socially relevent themes while DC stuck to the more old fashioned "good guys vs bad guys" storytelling.

Based on the arguments, it looks like the recent film versions have flipped it the other way

Whew. That lineup.:whew:

Agreed. We all win. :obama:

Pretty safe to say that I and my son are probably going to peep all of what was listed here...then get on our Siskel & Ebert tip like we usually do when we get home. It's all in fun for us though, even if we favor a particular side. :cape:

And generally darker marvel is just too campy now thanks to Disney

sorry i should've clarified - i didn't mean to insinuate that big characters die in DC films, apart from raz al ghul and bane
just remarking that Marvel likes to keep their big characters alive
Just curious, what 'big' character died in a DC movie?

I hope that by the time i have a son/daughter to enjoy comic films with, they'll still be making these films. although I think they'll run out somehow. just like the retarded story book turned live action films ran outta steam. hansel and gretel with guns :stopitslime:
