I don't brag about shyt. Nor glorify shyt. I just tell my story. I moreso brag about my intellectual prowess when getting myself OUT of shyt I get myself into. I'm always the first to say I don't respect nor desire to be in the situation I'm in. I give the UTMOST respect to progressive, successful, straight laced blacks and often find myself jealous of those who didn't have to deal with certain circumstances that I did. Boo hoo. Sad story...Black American dad story.
A lot of you haven't caught on to the fact that I'm only using the fact that I'm what the streets would call "authentic" as a foundation for credibility and to ultimately capitalize on the ignorance of those who will be drawn to my music just for that. I've got GEMS in store for those who actually listen to me speak, or enjoy my music. My album WILL BE and is a strong deterrent to the lifestyle I subjected myself to through poor choices, lack of positive guidance growing up, and being stabbed by an absentee father at 12.
The fact that after all of the "felonies" and lessons I've learned, I still know, and understand where I come from (mentally) and know who I am (spiritually) is only a testament to the strength and resiliency of the black mans spirit. When they see how I FLIP the whole culture on its head, then they'll stop hating. Once I do a complete 180 from the expectations of people who share your limited perception and preconceived notions of who I am, my mission is accomplished.
Uninformed, grudge-w-their-piece-of-shyt-jailbird baby daddies ass females in here just fronting like I'm Jerome from up the block, some dummy with a record, when I'm far from that. I graduated with a 3.6 GPA, and a Bachelor's in Business Administration. A task I undertook IN PRISON and continued post-release. My expertise is venture capitalism, accounting and the beauty and depth of the English language. I run an LLC, have multiple business plans drawn up with investors, participate in giving back to my community regularly, and take care of my family from afar. I have no children, no debt, and no tattoos that aren't coverable by a T-shirt. Problem is, y'all treat felonies like its a free pass to judge, when last time I checked, everybody got some shyt between the cheeks.
Anybody can tell a kid to stay in school. But who are the real at-risk youths going to listen to? The ones headed the same path of destruction that I once was...Obama? Cosby? Will Smith? Kendrick? Drake? These are all tremendous positive figures in their own right, but I'm who they identify with. So I know my purpose.
