Like Jonny hates her because she is too similar to him and he hates himself. They gotta do psychological evaluations because anybody else matched with Bao would have been perfect. She really wants this to work.
Jonny needs to be grateful because Brandy wouldn't have been so loving and forgiving.

I don't understand why I'm such a fan of Myrla. On paper, everything about her personality is the kind of stuff that turned me off. But for some reason I think she's great. I think it's her confidence or something.

But I could KINDA see where he's coming from. Bao looks like she's the "check the box to get married" type. Like she's only getting married cause she thinks it would look good for her career
Johnny told her his relatives names in Mandarin. And she spent 2 hours trying to memorize their names so she can look good in front of them. I can see how that type of personality she has can get annoying
How is that a bad thing? Should she have not memorized them? She cares enough to do it. I don't see a problem here. Johnny is immature to me... and has a very distorted view of how a marriage is supposed to work. He continues to downplay everything she does. I do dislike when people feel like doing the bare minimum is an accomplishment, but I don't think he's being fair here. Times have changed. His wife is a career woman. She's not going to be slaving away in the kitchen. Yea, you're going to have to make meals together sometimes.
Some of these couples are lost...if you can't get through simple and sometimes trivial problems, you will crumble when you go through some real shyt.
Then I think Johnny just isn't physically attracted to the broad and picking on every little thing so he can get out. When you sign up for a show like this...physical attraction can't be #1 on the list.
