I think one can make an argument that as a BLACK MAN, you HAVE TO work TWICE as hard to be even a fraction as successful as a white man.

Give a white boy that same show and he’s sleep his way through 7 seasons barely even knowing his lines or even trynna make a good show

All his deliveries would be like :russell: and he’d still get an Emmy

Martha
What fairly recent show has hit 7 season though? :jbhmm:

Are you a fan of ALL WHITE show with no blacks The Big Bang Theory?:usure:

Exactly. And this very show is being syndicated on like 10 channels, also two broke girls, and that Mom show....

And let’s not even start with Friends on every damn network just shy of Cartoon Network and the damn Disney channel.

In all fairness there are plenty of white shows that get the ax after 1 or 2 seasons, it's just that so many more of them get the green light you don't even notice when they are gone. Big Bang has stayed around forever, but The Mick got deaded after two seasons. I'm still salty about that....and Sarah Connor Chronicles :birdman:

I really liked the show.. hated the theme but enjoyed the show..
As a married man close to living Marlon's situation I saw parallels and found a real personal connection to the show.

Sad to see it go

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
There were several times on Marlon's show where he was going on with a joke way too long that really could have benefitted from Shawn yelling "ALRIGHT, STUPID!! :what:" and shutting him up
I'm glad to see nikkas actually appreciating what Shawn brought to the table. Marlon is a good physical comic and character. But SHAWN was the one with all the jokes. His terrible Denzel impression. All dat. And nikkas used to act like Marlon was a one man show.

Straight men are underappreciated by audiences in general. A lot of people don't understand how important a straight man is to making a joke work.

I remember how people used to say that Kenny didn't need to be on Inside the NBA. That that the show would be fine w/ just Ernie & Barkley. But whenever Kenny had a day off you would miss his presence. The only reason Barkley is so funny on that show is because Kenny perfectly sets him up. Also the reason why Shaq can be so annoying at times is because he tries to set up his own jokes and they never work because he doesn't know how to setup a joke.

I fukked with it. :manny:
Season 2 made me laugh more than Season 1. Even though he overdoes it a lot, Marlon always seems to make me laugh.
Not surprised by the cancellation though. Seeing Marlon's posts on IG around the Season 2 finale told me he knew it wouldn't be back. I think the show could find an audience if he tried to continue it on Netflix (I know the show is streaming on there now).
Also, no more Bresha Webb in tight dresses. :mjcry:
