Just came in to say Kali Hawk is dope as fukk in real life. Looks and personality wise. I was choppin it up and cracking jokes wit this chick for like 2 hours straight. Had her dyin laughin. Lol
I don't mind these type of movies for real. They give black actors something to do and they don't cost that much to make which means more then likely they will end up making a profit off of most of them.

Marlon Wayans confuses me. Every interview I see him do he's talking about "the white man this, the white man that" and I say to myself who exactly does he think was spending money to go see Scary Movie 1 & 2, Little Man, Dance Flick, Haunted House, etc.? Those damn sure ain't black movies.

Marlon got 9th place made 6 mill and still recouped

The budget for the movie was like 5, but P&A (print and advertising) was probably double the budget of the movie so he hasn't recouped yet.
P&A is Hollywood's dirty little secret that they keep out of the news to make their bottom line look better.
Brehs on this site do not understand advertising budgets. It's like they just forget those things exists

I can't even front, it was only in the past 3-5 years that I really started understanding budgets for everything overall. I was just reading the Vulture piece about the dude that ran Relativity Media and how he got the studios to give him the "Ultimates" which they don't even give shareholders. Those are the real numbers including P&A, per diem, the money it cost to bail actor B out of jail and dispose of the dead hookers on the low when he was shooting etc.
When the creator of Veronica Mars said in an interview that every episode costs at the very least 1.2 mill I was woke.
They're really out there burning money. I'm just trying to get a taste

Not only that, but the theater gets a taste of that money too. It's why a movie sometimes needs to make at least 3x its budget to recoup because the theater has to get broke off

Sometimes I get why people complain about mid-budget movies not being made any more, but when you even get half an idea of how much stuff really costs you can't blame the studios.
Did any of these kinda numbers leak in the whole Sony thing? I can't remember.
Spectre's numbers did. Saying it needed to make like 800 or 900 million to break even or make money and luckily for them it did. It costs 250 to make so all in all with P&A we're looking at a 500 million dollar project
