the Jets are retarded obviously...hiring a defensive coach and pairing him with a QB that had 16 college starts was the height of stupidity. But Sanchez is a lost cause...and to be honest I dont think Bill Walsh would have helped him.

The kid was drafted by Woody for ulterior motives(handsome, mexican, marketable) to compete with the other team in town. They just didnt do their research around pretty much everything pointing to him sucking. You dont trade up for a guy with 16 starts.

Bill Walsh would have done a way better job at putting an offense together and coaching him up...you think Schotty and Rex are the equivalent of Bill Walsh?

He was still in his 3rd year, though. I never really thought the Jets really had too many weapons last year. Better than this year...but Plexico hadn't played in 2 years and is no longer in the league. Their #1 is not a #1 . Still, he did not improve last year so I feel where you're coming from. I probably would have called for his head if he was on my squad. I'm just saying...if you're going to hitch your wagon to him and throw a bunch of money at him, why not get him some weapons (on the field and off) this year?

They went about things the wrong way by even entertaining the extension. What Tannenbaum (and I hate to say it, Rex's) downfall will be that they won't admit that this didn't work. Tannenbaum has a reason for it since Fez's fate will be tied to him, but Rex has enough clout to survive a GM firing. He should turn the page if the GM doesn't want to.
