i guess you can understand what he is saying. by all these kids in HS jacking up 3s. i mean my nephew plays HS ball & i see all these 6'6 kids playing like they are steph. looking soft as fukk because they rather camp out instead of getting down in the post & using their size. but i guess you take the good with the bad with Stephs game. he is the star of the NBA. so of course kids are going to want to play like him. it really comes down to the coaches to let these kids know that they have to do more then shoot 3s.

i know he sounds bitter but you can see what Mark is saying. :manny:
Classic case of people getting more caught up in the messenger instead of the message. I agree with he said. Let's be honest a lot of those shots curry throws up, it would get a lot of guys on the HS, college & nba level benched. It's just so happens he makes a high percentage of them. Curry has way more than just jackin' up three's and jackson acknowledge that.

The NBA does a shyt job of diversifying its stars. Can't blame Steph Curry if the NBA decides to make him the sole face of the league rather than mixing its stars.

I watched the game same as you fam and heard him say it in real time :usure:

he really didn't mince words my g
what other context could he have said it in to make it ok?

He gave his explanation as to why he thought that..... is his point without merit? Also, do you disagree, or are you offended? There is a difference and the journalist wants you to be the latter...

I didn't take his statement the way the article is trying to frame it....

BINGO!!!!!!!! And this has always been a problem with the NBA..... Stern had to make it a star driven league to bring in viewers........ but that formula is outdated... They need to promote the product as a whole and let the great players be great on their own merit....

to be honest he just came across as wild bitter more than anything
plus i think "hurting" is too strong a word

other posters have pointed out that kids growing up have always emulated their favorite players and there was hardly if ever talk of them hurting the game of basketball

Man I was watching the game shyt wasn't even disrespectful. He just said he noticed a lot of youth running up to the 3-point line and jacking up off the dribble 3s and Van Gundy was agreeing with him and also made sure to point out to say Curry is a special player and that everybody can't be like Steph.

All of his is truth, however, in today's world people don't like or respect truth, they'd rather create the opposite. This shouldn't even be an issue really, except for Mark being correct.

exactly, Curry shooting is a art to him, he is working on that shyt 24/7. also he comes from a family of shooters. im sure his dad really worked with him. these kids dont have that luxury Steph had. but like i said it really comes down to the coaches letting these kids know. look 3s are good but you have to do more then stand out by the 3 point line. i mean even Steph does more he is very creative around the basket.

he didn't say anything bad about curry? :what:

he said don't go into the gym and just shoot threes because "you're not steph curry", work on other aspects of your game. that's what he said. he also said curry isn't simple a shooter and went on to praise him for all the other shyt he does, again making a point to kids not just focus on their three point shooting while ignoring everything else.

i don't even like jackson, but they're twisting his words here. :francis:
