One of the guys who was supposed to take a dive against him was Tim ‘Doc’ Anderson. He didn’t, and beat Gastineau. I was at that fight as a kid.
They had a rematch and Anderson’s promoter, Elvis Parker, drugged him. Gastineau won.
Anderson killed Parker for the drugging.
