There's a lot of songs that he wrote for other artists that were big hits that he shoulda took for himself but dunno if it would be a good fit for him.
Imaging him singing independent woman. I can picture him singing that record too.
Come to think of it, I think the male r&b artists that were big at the time were either terrible singers, clowns or both.
