Oh no..they start earlier than that. They used to. Jennifer Capriati was playing at 13 or 14..Monice Seles at 15..Serena and Venus has been around since at least 97...Serena was turning 16 that year. Tennis girls start very early and it's wild for them to stay in their 30s even though they still look fit as fukk.

Good point. Forgot Venus and Serena started mad early. Hell Martina Hingis too. And Hingis was beasting very early as well, only to fall off before the age of 25. Crazy.

Let me ask this..if she does retire, what's her gimmick? She's made good money doing this but what is she going to be doing from now on? Just living off that money? Is she married to some goofball with easy money I don't know about? I'm always amused in the aftermath of these things.
What do you mean what's her gimmick? She's probably set for life

Depends on her lifestyle..she should be set for life but it depends on how she lives over the next 25 years. Tyson was set for life when you and I were just children..had the money that Jordan could only dream of having but that stuff don't last without proper management.

Only 28, why not just take a year off to heal?
A year at her age and with her mileage? It would be a wrap any way. Very good player, just happened to come along in a time of greatness. Best analogy I could think of is Phil Michelson.

28 aint :flabbynsick: and 17 aint :banderas:no mo in tennis.

Some of the best men right now are near 30 or over 30 and killing shyt.

Roberta vinci and flavia penetta are in their mid 30's and were just in the usa open finals.

That said, constant bad injuries (rafa's knees, maria shoulder, etc.) can wrap your career no matter the age.
