I read through this thread and I figured it out. Brehs are saying this aint the same Harley that was in SS. I'm guessing this is the feminist and empowered Harley.

its not that, the direction made some shytty choices, and apparently Margot's ego got in the way (but I wouldn't blame feminism for that). The ensemble isn't talented enough to rise above the material and non engaging villains are non engaging villians

Naw, Margot implied that she was blocked by WB from doing GCS (Probably because of Reeves' universe) so she did BOP instead. And the BOP producer said they couldn't use Batgirl because of her future movie.

General consensus is it was trash, whereas me and a few others thought it was pretty good, if there was nothing else on I'd watch it again

I feel like a large contingent of fans want every superhero movie to be some 150 million dollar blockbuster or some 13 part prestige HBO blockbuster.

Like Deadpool partly skirted this by making fun of these desires while also indulging in them on a smaller budget( then the second movie plays it straighter and suffered).

Nor every story, no matter what characters are involved don’t automatically need to fall into those tropes.

That’s not what I said.

The whole sentiment towards the movie by people that haven’t even seen it tells my point. The movie is flawed. The fact Batman didn’t show or feminism weren’t it.

It was just a small story.

I feel that but tbh it just felt like a female deadpool .. kinda forced imo.. wasn’t the worst movie ever but nothing special

The movie got a it's fair share of flak on social media because of Harley's look and costume was different than in Suicide Squad. The comments from the director and Margot about the changes in Harley was primary reason for the blowback on social media.
