what if that Joker movie blows up

they gonna continue with Leto and Margot?

an asian Batgirl is interesting

I wonder if they're gonna give Barbra Gordon a cameo in the Joker flick where he shoots her
Phoenix isn’t going to sign into a multi picture deal. It’s a one off and nothing more.

Lagertha seems like great casting for Black Canary. Winnick is a black belt in real life I believe as well. I'm not too familiar with the other characters to know if they match the actresses aside from looks. I know Stephanie comes up for America Chavez in casting.
I would never have thought of Stephanie Beatriz for America Chavez. America is supposed to be early 20s at the oldest and Beatriz is like 36 years old.

Did I miss a posted article link or something? Why are so many dudes talking about Cassandra Cain being Batgirl in this movie?

Cause she’s going to be Batgirl in this movie :lolbron:

Or at least fill in for Barbara in some way
I still haven't seen anything that says that. All I have seen is that Cassandra Cain will be in this movie and that the same woman writing the BoP flick is writing the Barbara Gordon/Batgirl solo movie.
Seems much more likely they will ignore that Cassandra was ever Batgirl and just stick her with her current comic book codename of Orphan.

I think DC was trying their best not to make the backbone out their EU in Gotham characters, but that was always their best route imo. I mean just the big names alone:

-Batman is Batman
-Nightwing has a special place in many peoples hearts being the original Robin
-Red Hood and The Outlaws would easily do numbers just off of the timeless obsession with anti heroes
-Birds of Prey/Batgirl

This is fantasy booking but I would've just ran a modified court of owls storyline to properly introduce the bat family and then branched out with Birds of Prey, Teen Titans, Red Hood and The Outlaws, Nightwing etc. Have a Gothamverse inside the EU (for the characters who actually operate in Gotham) with crossover appearances from characters with ties to Gotham. They could've easily just made a 'thing' that most heroes left Gotham to Bats and most villains avoided Gotham unless they had to, that way the problem of Metas isnt overplayed. Done properly Batman and Superman could've ended up teaming up in the same movie only like twice a decade to create a spectacle

Course what the hell do I know about planning an EU:heh:

Rumor: Penguin Dropped From Birds of Prey, But May Appear in The Batman

New rumors have surfaced suggesting Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin, won’t be involved in Birds of Prey after all. Instead, it’s believed Warner Bros. will focus on utilizing the villain in Matt Reeves’ Batman solo flick as originally planned.

Past chatter suggested Penguin would appear in one of the films, but with Birds of Prey’s rumor mill of who’s in and who’s out in constant motion, Cobblepot’s purported axing from the script via The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez should also be taken with a grain of salt, especially as he was never confirmed in the first place.

The Penguin made his big-screen debut in 1992, in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, played by Danny DeVito. Josh Gad has repeatedly teased his interest in the past in playing the villain, with speculation going as far back as May 2017. It remains to be seen how Reeves will shape his take on the Dark Knight, with details on who’ll wear the cowl, which villain Batman will actually face and how the movie fits into the studio’s current continuity still all to be revealed.

As for Birds of Prey, none of the heroes involved have been confirmed, so it’s no surprise the studio hasn’t addressed the movie’s villain. The latest rumors suggest focus will be placed on Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Huntress and Cassandra Cain, with Barbara Gordon featured outside of her Batgirl alter-ego.

It’s believed they will join Renee Montoya in what Robbie pitched to the studio as “an R-rated girl gang film.” Cathy Yan is attached to direct from a script by Christina Hodson, who also wrote the story for the Batgirl film that’s also in development for Warner Bros.

According to our sources, WB is searching for stars in and around the same age-range as Margot Robbie - who will reprise the role of Harley Quinn - and right now those involved with bringing these DC heroines to the big screen are said to be very high on Jodie Comer (KILLING EVE) and Vanessa Kirby (MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT) for Black Canary, and Alexandra Daddario (BAYWATCH) for Huntress.
