Racial discrimination and black on black crime are not the same things. You could argue that since we hate each other so much, we don't need any extra help from other races, especially since we've had our fill since the inception of this country and even before that.

That's not the point. In the age of PC and "words hurt" and you can't just dismiss his words like that or the age difference. If a 40 year old person drove up to a local HS or college and stood in the parking lot calling students pieces of crap people would say "What the fukk is wrong with him? Why would he do that? That's not right. Those are kids.
" and the police would be called. But since this kid just happens to be an athlete he doesn't get he privilege of the "words hurt" or "he's a kid" and is actually expected to ignore words (that you and others have decided are benign) and behave in a more mature fashion than someone more than twice, probably close to 3 times his age. At some point we have to stop allowing bitterness and envy to make us forget that athletes are indeed people and in Smart's case, a kid.

...dude was probably just in the moment,stupid trash talk turns physical all the time during the heat of the game if sumbody says the wrong thing at the wrong moment....im sure if dude had just been waiting to inbound the ball and he heard a fan call him "piece of crap" he wouldn't have stopped what he was doing to fight....but dude was obviously frustrated about the game and the taunting got to em this time...u can say it sounds stupid to attack sumbody over that,but u don't have the frustration and emotion to go along with it that Marcus had goin on at the time....bad decision but its his career and he gotta deal with it...,black men make decisions based off our emotions everyday in the heat of the moment or passionate arguments
..so at least maybe marcus learned sumthing valuable lesson in a basketball game and not the streets...he aint goin to jail behind it,that fan learned a lesson toojilla82
