People keep saying the fan had to say something racial to get such an immediate reaction. I am saying the fact that his team has been struggling and he has been struggling and they were getting beat by a clearly inferior team added to the fact that he just fell into the stands and got heckled by a fan would be enough to garner such a reaction from him regardless if the heckling was racially motivated or not.

To be fair though, I don't think Smart himself ever directly claimed dude called him a slur. As far as I know, some radio analyst had just claimed that he heard Smart say that, and then everyone else went off and running with it (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Did Smart "confirm" the slur during the press conference? I didn't watch his part.....
