I feel you but what about all the hundreds(thousands) of hours and work he spent in the gym.. high school, AAU, big time college ball, and then hopefully to the next level which is a given. What about his family? I'm not saying its all about the money and I hope his draft stock doesn't slip, but where do we draw a line here? I don't have a problem with him being suspended, I have a problem with the "It doesn't matter what was said" rhetoric when discussing the actions of a 19 year old, essentially excusing the actions of the other guy.

This is a dumb, simplistic way of thinking. Not letting it slide = physically assaulting someone on national tv? The only way to preserve your pride and dignity is through violence? Classic niggnorance.

If he really wanted to punish this guy in a way that clearly makes the old cac a loser and him a winner in the situation, he could have gotten up, exchanged words in a way that delayed the game, and maybe tried to have the fan removed. If he wanted to take it a step further and really be on some activist shyt, he could do what brothers do in Europe and refuse to play on until the guy is gone. That's probably extreme, though.

After the game, when reporters ask (or even if they don't) he makes it a point to call out the fan for saying something racist. Yadda yadda yadda come Monday people are talking about how that old cac is a racist and not representative of the Texas Tech fanbase, etc etc. Ether for the cac as he's now a persona non grata (at least publicly/officially) in the Texas Tech community. Jeff Orr (cac's name) is now synonymous w/ racist. Orr's money gets fukked up instead of Smart's. That's a W.

I remember Laettner out there stomping on players while they were laying on the ground. Smart is going to be OK. He's a NBA player stuck in college not getting his paper like he would be if he came out. Everybody loses their poise at some point.
