Can't be mad at all about that. I respect Maidana's decision.
He ended up having a better career than anybody expected, considering his limitations as a fighter. He made a ton of money from the Mayweather fights, not to mention the Broner fight as well. Now his hunger (for boxing anyway) is gone. If he wants to walk away from the sport instead of sticking around and getting the Robert Guerrero treatment, he's well within his rights to do so. And you know he was gonna get the Ghost treatment.
And what I mean by the Ghost treatment, I mean that he was just going to be used as a stepping stone for the other young fighters in Haymon's stable. Just like what Guerrero is going through. And Chino has been through that enough. He was supposed to be a stepping stone for Victor Ortiz. Then he was a stepping stone for Devon Alexander. Built himself back up. Then was supposed to be a stepping stone for Broner. We all know how that turned out. He was rewarded for all of that with the 2 Floyd fights. Now he's basically set. He doesn't have to worry about being fed to all the younger up and coming fighters anymore.
