Doesn't matter who's crazy or who is on the fridge of the national mentality.

first off I don't think it will be Christie. He seems like the obvious pick, but they will probably chose weak ass rubio for obvious reasons. .

second, They win when the nation is energized in their direction. In 08 shyt was different. The dems don't have that momentum right now. The GOP will play (and they already have started) to play on the interest of the libertarians and that group is growing. It's a fantasy to think the dems will get that group... despite all the gop craziness.

they probably will win with or without Christie. 2016' is a must win year for them - they know they are dead if a liberal crushes them in general elections. For 2 election cycles we haven't experienced the GOP even making an attempt at energizing it's core base.....They tried the Romney and mccain type of people...... so we believe the GOP is weak fantasy. It's not.

Non -college educated white people and libertarians and ultra conservatives makes up most of the voters - outside of hard core liberals.
It will be Christie guaranteed. Is there anywhere you can bet on it yet? I'd put a G on Christie. Nobody in Republican party has a snowball's chance in hell against Hillary other than Christie btw.

They're in a catch 22. Get a minority to win minorities,
Most people can get with that. The problem for the GOP is those ideas also come with
- Racism
- Gun NUttery
- Xenophobia
- abortion
- religion

So for the average america who wants low taxes, and the ideal of american values, BUT isn't a xenophobic or religious nut you really have a choice to make and reason usually wins out.
I think people will be focusing on economics.. more so than guns and abortion. Def not focusing on religion - regardless if people aren't Evangelical Christian, most of the nation isn't against that shyt enough to really care about that.

Also, they do not need a minority as the main person - maybe vp

Breh, Rubio is gonna get eviscerated on the campaign trail and primaries. He ticks boxes but his mic skills are weak. The only notable thing about him is his ethnicity.

Imo they will tear themselves apart again.
I agree about Rubio being weak. But I think he will survive; they sorta need him not to get torn apart in front of the entire nation.

i agree with your last statement....
Christie is the only one that can beat Hillary, but 1) who says it will be Hillary. 2) Christie has flaws.

I agree that there's a slim possibility that someone could come out of nowhere and beat Hillary again. Not sure who that person would be.

The GOP base hates Christie, but we need to remember that the GOP primary functions like the general election. You have to compete nationwide. And Christie will beat every other GOP candidate in the primary because he'll win CA, NY, all the northern and northeast states, etc. He'll win every state that's blue in a general and most of them that are purple too. Some idiot like Cruz isn't beating him anywhere except the south and some midwest states and that won't be enough to win the primary.

We heard the same thing about Romney because he was hated by the GOP base as well, but he won the primary for the same reason Christie will.

Juan Roberto's bald spot
I started reading then i remembered that Rubio was a coddled politician straight from the loins of Jeb Bush whose only astute political act was throwing Jeb in the Bushes and riding the tea party wave into the senate...who he then screwed by joining with McCain and Co, the number two's on the tea party hit list, for the immigration gimmick that Obama was never gonna sign prior to 2014. Now he is out there clamouring for a gubmint shut down to mollify his frothing base, a shutdown that Obama will be happy to take...prior to 2014.
The one thing that the article got right was the fact that he is egocentric, how else do you explain his thought process that an all white republican party will accept immigration reform and willingly add to the democrats ranks.
Politically, he's a light weight. Obama's ascendancy is an anomally, repubs should stop trying to model themselves after their hated enemy...its hypocritical.

You have to take momentum into account.

(excuse the crudeness)

IA - social conservatives
NH - moderates
CO - moderate/libertarians
MN - moderate/social conservatives
MO - social conservatives
UT - social conservatives
SC - social conservatives
NC - moderates/social conservatives
AZ - moderates/social conservatives
MI - moderates/social conservatives
FL
MA ...

If Christie can do reasonably well until NC, he has a solid chance.
