Marco Polo Season 1 on Netflix Official Thread

Started to binge on this show last night. On episode six right now, plan to finish the season today.

I'm just a bit disappointed that the guy who plays Marco Polo isn't a more magnetic character/actor.

You find yourself way more interested in Kublai Khan and the blind monk, Hundred Eyes (whose fight scenes are AWESOME).
Asian women are not my thing, but some of the naked asian whores in this show are

I picked that up about the guy playing Marco as well. He's likable but doesn't have a lot of screen presence. I agree that Khan is the most interesting character here. I'm only on episode six, so I'm not sure how much is revealed about Hundred Eyes, but I need to know more about him.

I love Asian women. This show got me

I like the dude playing Marco Polo, but not as Marco Polo. He seems like the priest from Vikings, a main background character and not the center of the show named after him. Every character is shining, especially Kublai

I was about to post the EXACT same thing. Marco Polo is playing the role of the priest from Vikings, and Kublai Khan is like Ragnar Lothbrook (if he were the emperor of the largest land empire in the history of the world.)

I think anyone who likes The Vikings and Kung Fu would like Marco Polo.

I will say that I think the 1982 version had better theme music:

it's a murder mystery, more of a whodunit kinda show told from two different perspectives. it's worth watching

It does involve a man cheating on his wife but like @trick said it's more a murder mystery, and people tell what they remember but it doesn't always line up. So you wonder who is lying to hide something, or who just has a bad memory.

It got McNulty and Rawls from "The Wire", Alice from "Luther", Deacon from "The King Of Queens"....all kinds of people in it.

I watched the first two eps and fell asleep on the third one.

Not because I was bored. I'm hooked but I was really tired. IMO this is another Netflix piff.
