He just brought the company and the accolades that came with it. An even bigger one is Trump. The executive producers for the Apprentice came out and apologized for how they portrayed him. They used a TV show to make him appear to be a savvy business man when his track record has been far from that. But because he's rich and gives off that image people bow to it and believe it

Billionaires are the result of extreme levels of exploitation. Lebron himself might not directly have dirt on him but in order for Nike to even give him that 30M a year they gotta exploit cheap labor and then extort $200 from the customer for a shoe that cost $10.

You cannot be a billionaire and also be ethical. In order to acquire that level of wealth you have had to have done something ethically wrong or ambiguous to acquire it.
