I stumbled upton this article that goes into detail about the myth of Mansa Musa using slaves and wanted to share this.
"Stories about his [Mansa Musa's] journey have numerous anecdotes which are not true and which the mind refuses to admit".

One of the best twitter user I follow is
@xspotsdamark a man with a deep knowledge of African history. He's always taking the time to debunk the lies, memes and propaganda that white supremacist use to mock the African diaspora and further racism. And he always shows his sources.
I remember someone asked him once why did he waste his time engaging with outright racists. And he said that a few years ago when they started the "despite being 13% of the population and 50% crimes blablabla" meme, he just shook his head in amusement because no one could be fooled to believe this shyt, right?
Wrong.
You get plenty of people who buy their lies wholeheartedly because it already confirm their biases, or they don't want to dig deep in a subject to see if it's true or not. And it's one meme after the other, one false graph chart after the other, one false historical fact after the other, on and on that adds up to paint a grim image of black people.
I don't know if this article will change your mind but at least I hope that others who stumble unto this thread will find it interesting.
